Thoughts of the month

1. I really like this song.

2. Sephora Australia is a little bit closer to opening. I'm excited.

3. I'm struggling to come up with thoughts this month.

4. Pretty sad considering I've had a whole month to come up with them.

5. We bought the worlds ugliest blender.

6. It's no secret that I really don't like FIFO. There are some times when it's especially difficult such as the weekends and special events. Going solo at those times isn't much fun. The last few months I've really struggled, there have been things going on and I've just wanted to talk to my husband but I can't. When he was working locally I could talk to him during the day, but now that he's doing FIFO I can only talk to him before 5.15am or after 6.30pm. I really miss being able to talk to him whenever I want to.

7. Summer is coming. I can feel it in the air. The days are getting longer, it's a little bit warmer and I am not looking forward to it at all.

8. I'm seeing all the pumpkin flavoured things they have in the US for Halloween and I am jealous.

9. Yahava Koffee is amazing.

10. Luma Cosmetics by Jess Hart is coming to Priceline soon and I'm excited. I have the Pink Hope lipstick by Luma and it's amazing so I can't wait to try more of the range.

Brilliant!

Look at this wonderful thing I found at Priceline! It's a refillable pump bottle, one of those clever ones where you push down on the top and the product comes out. I got one for my eye make-up remover, I need to go back and get another one for my nail polish remover.

You too can have one of these magic little bottles for only $5.99.

This weeks face

Let's just pretend that blogger isn't posting my photos sideways again and talk about this weeks face.

This week I pulled out a few old favourites. L'Oreal's Matt Morphose is my all time favourite foundation, which has now been discontinued. Why does that always happen? I've been saving this for special occasions but I've decided it's time to use it. Once it's finished I'll be on the hunt for a new foundation, any suggestions?

Repeats from last week are my Bobbi Brown Corrector, Lancome Hypnose mascara (I forgot to put it in the photo) and Shu Uemura Hard brow pencil.

Due to my terrible hayfever I haven't been wearing eyeshadow lately, I've just been using my grey Lancome Artliner. This is one of my favourite liners, it's so easy to use and comes in some beautiful colours.
I was testing out a new lip primer this week, the Live Beautifully Body Lip Butter Primer. It was okay to use but it didn't help my lipstick last longer so I'll just use it as a lip balm.

Despite saying last week I was going to add in a bright lipstick, I didn't. I used my old favourite MAC Syrup, Models Prefer Infinite Colour lip liner and Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm.

I'd forgotten I was trying to use up my Inglot cream blush, I only remembered about it when I photographed it for my What's In My Bag post, so made an effort to use it this week, along with my Hourglass Ethereal Glow blush.

What were your favourite products this week?

FFS Friday

You may remember me complaining last week about not being able to buy the Pink Hope lipstick from Priceline. After my tweets on Thursday someone from Priceline's customer service section contacted me. They arranged for a Pink Hope lipstick to be put aside for me but they totally missed the point. FFS.

The whole point was not only did I want to buy the lipstick, but that they have said the lipstick is available last week and yet my local store was withholding it. FFS.

It's all about raising money for a charity and yet my store only had the lipstick available from yesterday, which is the day before Bright Pink Lipstick day. That's stupid. FFS.

They were selling it at other Priceline stores now, so why weren't they selling it at my store? So what if it's in the catalogue that started yesterday? FFS.

I went into the store yesterday and they only had four lipsticks. FFS.

We always miss out in the country. FFS.

The weather here has been warming up considerably. FFS.

We had 16 degrees one day and the next day it was 28. FFS.

Saturday it was 30 so I pulled out all my summer clothes and was planning to wash them on Sunday. It rained all day Sunday. FFS/Not FFS.

The FIL is still in hospital. FFS.

Tiger wants to go and visit him, I don't want to. FFS.

I'm debating whether I should refuse to go up to visit. There's the reasonable side of me that says if it was my Dad I'd want to see him, then there's the other side that says I'm sick to death of going to the city and I just want to have a whole two weeks at home with my husband. FFS.

There are so many things we need to do around the house that I can't do myself and Tiger hasn't had the chance to do cause we've been spending so much time in the city. FFS.

It's looking like FIL will be transferred to his local hospital in the next few days so I'm hoping that means we will get to stay home. Not FFS.

Not sure when I turned into a boring old homebody. FFS.

That's it for my whining this week. If you've had any FFS worthy moments please tell me all about them. If you'd like to read more whinges, head over to Sarah's blog.

What's in my bag

I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves looking at people's make-up bags and seeing what's in there. Make-up bag posts are one of my favourite posts to read on other blogs, so I have no idea why I don't post mine on a more regular basis. Today I'm showing you the products in my daily make-up bag.

In an effort to actually use up make-up and to make my life easier in the mornings, I now have my daily make-up in a medium sized make-up bag. It makes the morning so much easier because I'm not sifting through my stash trying to decide what I want to wear, I just grab whatever is on top of my make-up bag and off I go. Gone are the days where I used to experiment with make-up and wear a different look every day, now I'm just about making myself look alive and semi decent.

Soon I'll do a post on the make-up I carry around with me, that'll be a very short post though because it's mainly just lip products.

As you can see from the photo above, things are getting a bit crowded, I need to do a clean out.

Bobbi Brown Slate cream eyeshadow, Nude by Nature mineral foundation and finishing powder, Inglot cream blush, Hourglass Luminous Light Ambient Lighting powder, Physician's Formula Mineral Wear powder, Hourglass Ethereal Glow Ambient Lighting blush.

L'oreal Matte Morphose foundation. This is my HG foundation and it's been discontinued, I'm going to be so upset when it's finished, finding a good foundation is so difficult.
Essence Swirlpool baked blush, The Body Shop Honey bronzer, MAC Painterly paint pot, Harlotte Bridges Nighty lipstick, Bourjois cream blush, Victoria's Secret blush.

Revlon Bare Light Skinlights, Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer, Too Faced Primed and Poreless, Benefit Ooh La Lift!, boe lip gloss, Lancome Hypnose mascara, Bobbi Brown Corrector, Eles Chocolate Spice eye liner.

Shu Uemura Hard Formula brow pencil, Lancome grey Artliner, Covergirl Liquiline Blast, Models Prefer Nude Appeal Infinite Colour eye pencil, Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer, MAC Brow thingo - the name has worn off but it's a thick, waxy stick that I never use, it needs to go in the B2M pile. NYX Nude Pink lipliner (I have no idea why they call this nude, it's far from nude, bright pink would be a more appropriate name). Pop Beauty Sweet Goodmorning Kiss, Rimmel Taupe Scandaleyes, Nars Dragon Girl, Sephora eye pencil, Models Prefer Always Nude Infinite Colour lip liner, boe lip pencil, Innoxa Navy Liquid eyeliner pen.

Victoria's Secret Very Voluptuous lip plumper, NYX Milk Jumbo eye pencil, MAC Untitled paint, 1Skin Solution Coconut Plum tinted lip butter, Bare Minerals Stroke of Light, Avon cream eyeshadow, Live Beautifully Lip Butter primer, POP BB lip balm, elf Luscious Liquid lipstick, Becca Baroque eye tint.

Manicare tweezers, Maybelline Define-a-lash mascara, L'oreal Blossoming Berry Infallible two step lipstick, elf Pink Lemonade All Over Colour.

Everything all in a pile, or two piles to be precise.
If there is anything you'd like to know more about or see swatched, please let me know.

Trilogy Everything Balm

I'm quite surprised that I haven't heard more raves about Trilogy's Everything Balm because it really is amazing, it's my unsung hero product. I've had it sitting in the nursery for ages but it was only on our latest trip to the city that I realised what a wonderful product it really is.

I discovered it's awesomeness by accident. Since we've been going to the city so often I keep all my make-up and toiletries packed so that I don't have to get them together each time. On our last trip my products all ran out. I had no moisturiser, serum, leave in conditioner or cleanser. What I did have was my Trilogy Everything Balm.

For the last three years I've been using this on the boys, I use it as a moisturiser, for eczema, nappy rash and to heal up any grazes but I've never used it myself.

I was a little hesitant to use it as a face moisturiser, but I wasn't willing to buy another one when I have so many at home, so I warmed a little bit between my hands and lightly applied it. To my surprise it sunk in quickly and didn't leave me looking like a grease ball.

That night I used it as a balm cleanser to take off my make-up and it worked a treat, it even took off my eye make-up. I was expecting it to leave a greasy film over my eyes but it didn't. The added bonus was that I didn't need to use a night cream (which is lucky cause I didn't have one with me anyhow!)

Despite it performing so well with the other uses, I wasn't sure it'd do the job as a leave in conditioner for my hair, but it did. I just warmed a small amount between my hands and then applied it to the ends of my hair.

I also used my Everything Balm as a lip balm, hand cream, intense foot treatment and cuticle softener. It really is an everything product!

Trilogy Everything Balm costs $18.95 for a 45ml pot and $29.95 for a 95ml pot.

Ingredients: prunus amygdalus dulcis oil, cera alba, papaya fruit extract and soybean oil, sclerocarya birrea seed oil, oenothera biennis seed oil, rosehip seed oil, triticum vulgare germ oil, calendula officinalis flower extract and soybean oil, echinacea purpurea extract and soybean oil, cocos nucifera oil, tocopheryl acetate, jojoba seed oil, olea europaea fruit oil, honey, parfum, citral, geraniol, citronellol, limonene, linalool.

This weeks face

I thought I'd start a new series on the blog to show what make-up I've been wearing during the week. I keep forgetting to post my monthly favourites so this is a better way to show what I've been using and loving. Plus, it'll encourage me to change things around instead of using the same products all the time.

This week I've been loving the combo of Olay Complete Care and Nude by Nature mineral foundation. Together they make my skin look flawless (almost) and natural. An added bonus is that this combo lasts all day without fading, so I get to the end of the day and still look decent.

After using up my Models Prefer concealer I've pulled out my old favourite Bobbi Brown Corrector. Once again I've been reminded of it's awesomeness and I wonder why I ever stopped using it.

I have a love hate relationship with my Becca Baroque Eye Tint. I love the shade, the sheer wash of colour and the lasting power, but I hate that no matter how much I shake it, sometimes it comes out of the tube lovely and creamy and sometimes it comes out a watery, unusable mess. All of my Becca tints do this and it drives me crazy.

The Innoxa Liquid Eyeliner pen is one of my favourites, it's so easy to use, it has a lovely fine line which is great for tight lining and it lasts all day. I have the navy shade which I think works really well with the Becca Baroque Eye Tint.

I'm trying to use up my ridiculous stash of mascaras so am currently using Lancome Hypnose and am considering buying a full sized one when this is gone. It's a great mascara that gives good length and doesn't smudge.

The eyebrow product you will see in every one of my weekly face posts will be my Shu Uemura Hard Brow Pencil because as you can see in the photo, it's huge. I've had it for years and it's still going strong.

e.l.f. All Over Colour Stick in Pink Lemonde is a beauty. It smells great and can be used on both lips and cheeks. I mainly use it on my cheeks, it gives a gorgeous natural flush.

Last up is lips. I've been keeping my lips basic and using either balm or my Victoria's Secret Very Voluptuous Lip Plumper. It has no plumping effect whatsoever, which isn't surprising as most lip plumpers don't. Despite this it's a lovely gloss. The shade I have is called Baby Pink, which on me goes on clear.

That's it for my weekly face. Looking at it all makes me realise my make-up has been rather boring this week, I'm going to add in a bright lipstick for next week.

FFS Friday - All about the bass

There haven't been any comments on my blog for at least three weeks now and I was starting to wonder what was going on. FFS.

I came to the conclusion that my posts have been so awesome you've all been left speechless. Heh.

I discovered this wasn't true early this week when Intense Debate suddenly decided it'd show me all the comments that were waiting for approval. FFS.

Some of them were seven weeks old! FFS.

Why Intense Debate decided to hide them I'll never know. FFS.

So to all of you who I've ignored for the last seven weeks, SORRY!

I'm pretty sure I'm dying from hayfever, so if you don't hear from me next week, you'll know the hayfever won. FFS.

I complained to Tiger that my hayfever was killing me, in front of Chai. Big mistake. FFS.

The poor little thing got so upset thinking I was dying. FFS.

It took me ages to convince him that I was only joking. Won't be saying anything like that again. FFS.

I really want to get the Pink Hope lipstick this year. I hadn't thought it'd be a problem as they are sold at Priceline. Just to be sure, I rang my local store who told me that they have them but they won't be available to buy until next Thursday as they are in the catalogue (that starts next Thursday). Considering Pink Hope day is Friday that seems a little strange, so I tweeted Priceline. It went down like this:

Clearly they didn't read my tweet. FFS

Not helpfull at all Priceline! FFS.

In episode 312,258 of things that only happen when I'm flying solo, yesterday Chai got gastro. FFS.

Thankfully he has yet to develop the "I am a sick male so therefore I am dying" act. Not FFS.

Having said that, trying to look after my sick, crying little boy and Eljay at the same time was not fun. FFS.

Typically, this also occurred when my whole support network are unable to help, so I had to deal with it alone. We managed. FFS/Not FFS.

Things I never thought I'd say as a parent episode three:

MY MAKEUP BRUSHES DO NOT GO IN YOUR BOTTOM! (Yes, I yelled it).

Keep your bottom away from your brothers face.

No, I do not like having your naked bottom in my face or on top of my head.

No honey, we don't eat flies, I don't think they'd taste very good.

Keep your head away from my bottom!

Please stop putting your head in between my legs.

GET YOUR MOUTH OFF MY BOTTOM!!!!! (I yelled that one too due to my bottom being naked at the time).

I'll leave you all to ponder what on earth was going on with that last one (if you really want to know ask and all shall be revealed, heh, see what I did there?)

Bright Pink Lipstick Day

Who's looking for an excuse to buy a new lipstick? I know I am and Bright Pink Lipstick Day is the perfect excuse.

Next Friday the 26th of September is Pink Hope's Bright Pink Lipstick Day. If, like me, you don't know about Pink Hope, here's what they are about:

The mission and objectives of Pink Hope are to:
  • Empower and encourage all women to be proactive and vigilant with their hereditary breast and ovarian health – by understanding and assessing their own personal risk
  • Provide a safe haven of information and support to the high risk community to help manage and navigate their risk
  • Advocate for the high risk community and instigate discussions relevant to high risk families
  • Give each high risk individual the tools and resources to be in charge of their health and discuss their options with healthcare professionals
  • Aim to reduce the impact of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer through the known high risk population through awareness, education and support
  • To raise the awareness of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer
If you'd like to support Pink Hope it's easy. All you do is buy a Pink Hope lipstick from Priceline or online from Pink Hope for $19.95 and all proceeds go to the Pink Hope Charity. As an added bonus, the Pink Hope lipstick is from Luma by Jess Hart, so you get to try out a product from her new line (which is launching soon!)

If you buy a Pink Hope lipstick, take a photo, post it online and use the hashtag #brightpinklipstickday.

Pink Hope calls on all Australians to make a promise to Kiss & Tell by talking about their family health history, specifically the rise of breast and ovarian cancer.

Thoughts on Disclosure

Recently a blog that I read lost followers after doing a sponsored post. Interesting. Most of the part time bloggers in Australia state if they are writing about a product or service that was provided to them. But what about the big time bloggers, celebrities, celebrity bloggers and well known people? Do you really think that they buy everything that they write about? No. But do they disclose when they receive a product or service for free? No. And yet we still read their blogs. What's the difference? In my opinion the difference is that bloggers are usually honest. They give their honest opinion about a product, regardless of whether they've received it for free or bought it themselves. Most of the time well known bloggers/celebrities rave about products and I'd bet that it's often not their honest opinion. Think about it, how often do you see one of them write/vlog something negative about a product? Exactly my point.

So next time you see a blogger write a sponsored post or write about products that were provided to them, have a think about this. Do you trust them or not? Are they usually honest and accurate with their posts? If they are then a sponsored post shouldn't be any different.

Note: I have never done a sponsored post, if I ever do it'll be disclosed.

Taupe Eyeshadows

Continuing on with the show off my stash series, today we have taupe eyeshadows. Who doesn't love taupe eyeshadow? I'm sure some people mustn't but I'm yet to meet them. Taupe is one of my favourite eye shadow colours. If I'm choosing eye shadows I'll choose a taupe and a nude, every time.

Clockwise from top left Stila Cloud, Grace, Espresso and Diamond Lil.

Bobbi Brown Cement, Ash and Slate.

Clinique Foxy and Bobbi Brown Heather Mauve.

Inglot Matrix 203, Natio Serene, L'Oreal Infallible Tender Caramel.

MAC Satin Taupe and French Grey.

Bourjois Ombre Stretch Brun Nylon, Savy by DB Mineral Baked Eyeshadow Bronze, Rimmel Smokey Quartz.

What are your favourite taupe eyeshadows? Is there anything here you'd like to see a swatch of? Let me know in the comments.

FFS Friday - Samsung saga

WooHoo! Look at me! I'm on time for a change!

For about five years now hubby and I have had Samsung mobile phones. They've had minor issues but nothing too serious.

Saturday I unplugged my phone from the charger, went to close the charging cover and it broke. FFS.

Bloody annoying but it's only a few months old, under warranty and we have phone insurance so no problem. Not FFS.

Tiger called Telstra to arrange to get it fixed and they said they'd call us back. They didn't. FFS.

Monday we went into the Telstra store who said that the phone would need to be sent away to get fixed and that they don't have any loan phones. FFS.

That would leave me without a phone for two weeks, whilst hubby is away. Not an option. FFS.

We asked if we could get the phone replaced as it's under warranty but they said no. FFS.

When we got home Tiger called Telstra to see if they would replace the phone and that's where things really went pear shaped. FFS.

They told us that the phone cover isn't included in the warranty and that the charging cover is considered to be part of the cover. FFS.

Really, WTF? FFS.

They've had a lot of problems with the charging covers, so clearly it's a manufacturers issue but they won't fix it? FFS.

So then we asked if we could claim it under the insurance. It's worth noting that we didn't ask for or want phone insurance, we were signed up for it without consultation and only found out we had it when we questioned the charges on our bill. FFS.

We were told that to claim the insurance it'd cost us $180. WTF? FFS!

The charging cover is broken off which means my phone is no longer water resistant. FFS.

Great. FFS.

Tuesday I get a phone call from Telstra saying they were returning my phone call. I hadn't phoned them so the lady I spoke to said she'd just check my account anyway since I was already on the phone. I told her about the issue I'd had with my phone so she put me through to another department. The lady I spoke to there told me that I could get the phone replaced and it wouldn't cost me anything. Not FFS.

She then put me through to the Stay Connected department who told me that the charging cover is a known issue that's covered by warranty. WTF? Even better, they had no record of talking to Tiger the day before. FFS.

So after all that drama, my phone is covered by warranty, it's being replaced and a new one arrived yesterday. Not FFS.

I have other stuff to whine about but really, after all that I can't be bothered typing it.

If you've had any FFS worthy moments, tell me all about them. If you'd like to read more whinges head over to Sarah's blog.

August Empties

Dove Pure deodorant - I had to go back to regular deodorant after the last natural deodorant I tried irritated my pitts. I really don't know why I keep on trying natural deodorants, they rarely work for me. Anyhow, this was okay. It's very gentle but I didn't find it overly effective, even in winter. I definitely wouldn't use it in summer.

1Skin Solution Lime Thyme Body Wash - This smells amazing. I bought it for my hospital bag when I had Eljay and I've been saving it ever since. Now that Eljay is 13 months old I decided it was time to stop saving it and start using it. I need to order another one.

L'oreal Casting Cream conditioner - This came with my last hair colour. I love the way it makes my hair feel and I usually get at least three uses out of it.

Garnier Beauty Oil Scrub - I'm surprised to say I really like this. It smells gorgeous and has a good amount of scrubiness to it.

Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub - Didn't like this at all. It's a body wash, not a scrub, there is no scrubiness to it at all.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner - These came with a magazine a while ago. They were pleasant to use but nothing amazing.

Haus of Gloi Sweet Rose Lip Balm - Haus of Gloi can do no wrong. Everything they make is perfection and the Sweet Rose lip balm is no exception. Unfortunately it was limited edition and I can't buy it again.

Haus of Gloi Satyr Soap -Such a gorgeous scent, I really want to get more products in this range.
Dusk Tea Tree Lip Balm -  I've had this for so long that it turned, so out it goes.

Clinique Even Better Eyes - Despite all the rave reviews this gets, it did nothing for me. In it's defense, it'd take a lot to help out my Mummy of two, FIFO husband, sleep deprived eyes.

Thankyou Hand Sanitiser - I've already repurchased this, it smells great and isn't drying.
Why do my photos insist on posting sideways?
Subtle Energies Mogra and Indian Rose Gold Cream, Wild Kashmir Purifying Cleansing Gel, Juhi Replenishing Milk Cleanser, Gentle Neem Cleansing Gel.
Subtle Energies are another company that can do no wrong. All of these samples were beautiful and all are products I'd purchase.
(Malin + Goetz) Grapefruit Face Cleanser - I only got one use out of this so can't say much about it.

Breastfeeding Teas

When I had Chai I had no idea that breastfeeding teas existed. I knew nothing about breastfeeding biscuits and increasing my milk supply, I just hoped that everything would work out and thankfully it did. The second time around I was more educated and decided to give nature a helping hand.

I tried tea from Weleda, Seventh Dutchess and Love Tea. All of them are 100% certified organic. They were all good for different reasons.

The Weleda Nursing tea is great when you need to increase your milk supply really quickly. I had two cups and within a few hours I had way more milk than I needed, bub got a huge feed that afternoon! I found it really helpful in the first few weeks when I was establishing my milk supply. It's also great when bub is having a growth spurt.
Weleda Nursing Tea contains fenugreek seed, anise seed, caraway seed, fennel seed and lemon verbena leaves.

The Seventh Dutchess Goddess tea tastes lovely, out of all of them it was my favourite flavour. It didn't make a huge difference to my milk supply but what it did do was help to calm bub's belly. He was quite a windy baby and had trouble getting rid of the wind. When I drank this his belly was a lot better and he was a lot more comfortable. This can also be used in the second and third trimesters of a pregnancy as it helps to strengthen uterine and pelvic muscles.
Seventh Dutchess Goddess Organic New Mother's Tea contains anise myrtle, fennel, fenugreek and raspberry leaf.

Love Tea Breastfeeding tea is very reasonably priced but doesn't taste as good as the Seventh Dutchess tea. I didn't find that this helped my milk supply, but as with the Seventh Dutchess tea it did help soothe bub's stomach.
Love Tea Breastfeeding Tea contains fenugreek, fennel, lemon balm, aniseed and caraway seeds.

FFS Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Anyone got any exciting plans for the weekend? I do, I'm going to vacuum and mop the floor. You're all jealous aren't you?

The FIL is still in hospital and it looks like he will be for at least another two weeks. FFS.

I'm over it. FFS.

I'm sick of visiting him, sick of being in the city and sick of hanging around hospitals. FFS.

I've told Tiger that next time he's home I'm not going to Perth, I'm staying home. Not FFS.

I really, really don't want to be a horrible, yelling mother. FFS.

That's exactly what I have been lately. FFS.

In an effort to fix this I bought a book about Buddhism for Mothers. FFS.

I was kidding myself thinking I'd actually have time to read it. FFS.

It's 1000 pages long. FFS.

WTF? Clearly it wasn't written by a mother, because any mother would know that most mothers don't have time to read a book that's 1000 pages long. FFS.

I can't even read a magazine, let alone a 1000 page book. FFS.

What a waste of money. FFS.

(I bought it online which is why I didn't know how huge it was). FFS.

Chai has turned into a beast of a child. FFS.

I was greatly comforted whilst talking to a lady at the Bunnings playground. She also has a 3 year old who's turned into a beast of a child. FFS/Not FFS.

I'm guessing they must grow out of it because there are adults in this world and if the children didn't grow out of the beastly stage there would be no adults. FFS.

For that matter there wouldn't be any four year olds either. FFS.

That's it for my weekly whine. If you've had any FFS worthy moments please tell me all about them in the comments. If you'd like to read more whinges head over to Sarah's Blog.

T2 Haul

When we went to the city a few weeks ago I paid a very quick visit to T2. It had to be quick because I always manage to spend a great deal of money there and I was trying not to. I was very restrained and only picked up four teas.

I got Cocoa Loco, Tummy Tea, Just Rose and Pai Mu Tan (white tea).

Cocoa Loco tastes just like chocolate, it's as close to chocolate as you can get without eating chocolate.

Tummy Tea is my favourite out of the four that I bought. It tastes beautiful and is very soothing for an upset belly. Chai loves it too.

Just Rose is exactly what you'd expect, a lovely, rose tea. I like this as much for the aroma as for the taste.

Pai Mu Tan is a tea that I always have in my cupboard. If you are a fan of green tea but find that it can be too strong, you'll love this one.

Tuesday 2 September 2014

Dear Eljay

My beautiful boy. Today you are 13 months old! You're now walking 95% of the time. From the day you turned one you decided you'd walk all the time. You're really fast, I can see that you'll be running soon.

You are a nature lover and love to be outside. As soon as you wake up you'll point to the door and want to go outside, then get really upset when I say no. Speaking of which, you've got my stubbornness and just like me you are very strong willed. Sorry about that.

If left to yourself you'll happily spend ages in the sand pit, you dig around and have a great time in there. You're starting to stand up for yourself more and will scream or react when Chai upsets you. You also tell on Daddy. If Daddy doesn't give you what you want you come to me then point to him and show me what you want that he won't give you, it's so cute.

You have beautiful big eyes with long eyelashes, so I'm regularly getting asked if you are a girl, even though you are usually wearing blue.

You are a beautiful, happy, cheerful little soul.

My precious boy, you are my reason for living, I'm so lucky to be your Mum.

Monday 1 September 2014

I finished a concealer!

Yes, this does warrant a post. How many other people do you know who've finished a concealer? Lots? No!

In my whole make-up wearing life (which is around 20 years) I've only finished two concealers. The first one was by the long discontinued Prescriptives, I think it was called camouflage or something like that. The second concealer is my beloved Models Prefer Professional Anti-Wrinkle Concealer. If you haven't tried this, you need to. It's amazing for under eye circles. Even better, it's only $9.99 from Priceline.

That is all.
