FFS Friday - Tell me something

When Chai was little he loved being carried in the Ergo baby and I rarely used the pram. Eljay is the opposite, he loves the pram and doesn't like the carrier. This wouldn't be a problem if we hadn't run over our pram. FFS.

Yes, you read that right, we ran over the pram. FFS.

Thankfully Eljay wasn't in it at the time. Not FFS.

Tiger had put the pram in the garage whilst he went out to pick up a fish tank and when he got back home he drove straight into the pram. FFS.

Thankfully he only damaged one of the wheels. FFS.

We didn't think it'd be a big deal to get a replacement wheel, but we forgot that we live in the country now. FFS.

The replacement wheel is going to take at least two weeks to arrive. FFS.

Meanwhile I have no pram. FFS.

Think I'll just stay home for the next two weeks. FFS.

Thank goodness for online shopping. Not FFS.

Speaking of two weeks, that's also how long it's going to take to get spare keys for our house. FFS.

We have lockwood keys so we can't just go and get them cut, they have to be ordered from lockwood. FFS.

Too bad if we need them in a hurry. FFS.

This week I once again made the mistake of thinking that I can have nice things. FFS.

I got some stemless wine glasses.

We used them once and as I was washing them I dropped one and it smashed. FFS.

I contemplated crying about it but it seemed like too much effort so I didn't bother. FFS.

I should have known better than to think I could have something nice. FFS.

Not sure if I mentioned it but Eljay has been giving me hell lately. FFS.

He's not sleeping, he wants to be held all the time and he cries constantly. FFS.

I had no idea what the problem was until Tiger notice he was getting molars through! FFS.

He only has two teeth on the bottom and his canines aren't through so I didn't even consider he could be teething. FFS.

I'd been worried about his teeth and considering taking him to the Dr because he hasn't had any teeth come through for around three months. FFS.

I'm still considering taking him to the Dr to make sure that the rest of his teeth are under his gums. FFS.

My crazy mind has decided that he doesn't have teeth and that's why he hasn't been teething. FFS.

See, these are the musings of a crazy mind. FFS.

Or perhaps it's just sleep deprivation, who knows. FFS.

Mum has reassured me that some children get their teeth out of order and it's nothing to worry about. Not FFS.

She also told me that these children seem to really suffer when they are teething. FFS.

My poor baby. FFS.

That concludes my weekly whinge. If you've had any FFS worthy moments tell me all about them. Alternately, if you've had any awesome moments, tell me about them too. Or just tell me something funny. Or not funny. I'm not fussy. Just tell me something.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Thoughts of the month

1. I didn't watch The Block this season, in fact I've never watched it, but I do feel sorry for the people on there who didn't make much money. I know it's a reality show but they put a lot of effort in for very little reward. There's no way I'd go through what they did for 10 grand.

2. This man dancing on a train in Perth is awesome.

3. Sephora Australia has announced the brands that they'll be stocking. I'm excited.

4. After much umming and ahhing we got a puppy. A rescue puppy. We've had her a week and I really don't know why I was so worried about it. She's a beautiful, placid little baby and we all love her.

5. Eljay is getting his first molars through. It's reallly strange, he's only got two bottom teeth and his canines haven't come through, so I was shocked to see his molars. It explains why he's been giving me hell lately.

6. The Natural Supply Co is now open. I've placed my first order, can't wait for it to arrive.

7. I have a serious case of wanderlust at the moment, I want to pack up everything, buy a bus and travel around Australia. Or move overseas. Or over east. Or up north.  Anywhere really.

8. I've been in a very strange, melancholic mood lately. Not sure what's wrong with me. I keep looking at Chai and thinking about how quickly he's growing up. My little boy is getting older and whilst I'm happy it also freaks me out a little. He's going to kindy next year. I hate the thought of not having him with me every day. This is another reason traveling around Australia would be good, he wouldn't go to kindy.

9. How is it nearly November? WTF happened there?

10. I bought some stemless wine glasses. I'm cool now.

Olay Regenerist Luminous collection

When I first saw the Olay Regenerist Lumious collection in store I thought they'd made a mistake as the prices were very high for a chemist range.

The range consists of a Brightening Cream Cleanser ($15.99 for 100g), Luminous Tone Perfecting Treatment ($67.99 for 40ml) and Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream ($57.99 for 50gm).

When I got home I did a bit of research and read very positive reviews online, so when I was offered the chance to trial the range I said yes. According to Olay I'll see more luminous skin in two weeks and my dark spots will be reduced in four weeks. I started using the whole range today, so will be very interested to see the end results.

In order to easily track how well the products are working, I'll only be using the Luminous products for the next eight weeks, with the addition of sunscreen as the moisturiser does not have SPF.

This is how my skin looks today. You can see plenty of freckles and dark spots. I took these photos this morning before I had my shower.
(It's a miracle that I managed a smile for this photo. Eljay is getting his first molars through and they are giving us all hell. I would have been lucky to get five hours sleep last night.)
The dark spot next to my eye really annoys me, I usually cover it with concealer so would love to get rid of it or lighten it significantly.

These photos are after I've used the cleanser, serum and moisturiser for the first time. Maybe I'm imagining it but I think my skin looks a little brighter. I took the photos in the same location, with the same lighting.

What do you think? Am I imagining it or does my skin look brighter in the second photo?

Nothing New November

As you may have guessed from the title, this year I'm doing Nothing New November. Emma I did it last year but I didn't blog about it. The more I think about it the more I realise that I am a consumer. I buy things. Things that I want, things that I convince myself I need, but really they are all things that I don't need and I buy them for the sake of buying things.

I think about this regularly and I think about the values that I want my boys to grow up with. Do I want them to grow up valuing things and not people? Do I want them to grow up always wanting things? No. So I need to teach them to value people and experiences instead of things. The best way I can do this is to lead by example. There's where No Buy November comes in.

For all of November I won't be buying anything I don't truly need. I will buy food, fuel etc but I will not buy: take away coffee, magazines, clothes (unless there's something I truly need), make-up, skin care (unless I run out of something), lip balm, candles and all the other unnecessary things I usually purchase.

I'm thinking about doing this on a bigger scale too. The thought scares me but the more I think about it the more I want to reduce my frivolous spending. It's unnecessary and a waste of money. I read a blog called Inked in Colour. Sash has not bought anything new this year. She's going a whole year without buying anything new. Nothing new at all, no clothes, no presents, nothing. I admire her resolve.

My Nothing New project won't be so strict, in a way it will be similar to the Beauty Diet. I'm still thinking about how my Nothing New project will look and will post about it when I've decided. Meanwhile, for all of November I'm buying nothing unnecessary. Who wants to join me?

FFS Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've all had a good week. I have had a relatively peaceful week, it's been lovely.

My hayfever is unrelenting. FFS.

It's driving me crazy. FFS.

I've used a large box of tissues in the last five days. FFS.

Because I'm breastfeeding I can't take anything for it. FFS.

Speaking of breastfeeding, Eljay is not showing any signs of wanting to stop. When Chai was the same age as Eljay is he was only having one feed day. Eljay feeds at least five times a day. Half of me is pleased about this and half of me is annoyed. FFS/Not FFS.

I love breastfeeding but there are times when I'm sick of having a child attached to my chest. FFS.

Eljay is not sleeping well at the moment. FFS.

He hasn't been sleeping well for the last four weeks. FFS.

I have no idea why. FFS.

I am sofa king tired. FFS.

He has also decided that he's a climber. FFS.

It terrifies me. FFS.

One day he just woke up and decided to start climbing, so he did. FFS.

He climbs everything. FFS.

He gets on the table, on the arm of his feeding chair, on the back of the lounge chair, anything he can climb he does. FFS.

He's really proud of himself and calls out to me so that I can witness his triumph. I'll walk into the room and see something like this. FFS.

Chai wasn't a climber so I have no idea how to deal with this. FFS.

Chai is totally obsessed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the moment. FFS.

He spends all day pretending to be a ninja turtle. FFS.

I never know what to call him, he's never Chai, he's Leo, Donny, Raph or Mikey. FFS.

I regularly get in trouble for calling him the wrong name. It goes like this:
C: Mummy, I'm Raph.
M: Hi Raph.
C: No, I'm not Raph, I'm Donny, you're Raph.
M: Okay Donny.
C: I'm not Donny I'm Leo.
M: Ok honey.
C: I'm not honey, I'm Mikey.

I am so, so sick of pretending to be a ninja turtle and fighting baddies! FFS.

In other news, meet our new daughter Bella. Isn't she beautiful! We got her on Wednesday. She's a rescue puppy and she is gorgeous. She's a Shar Pei Heeler mix and eleven weeks old. We're in love.
That concludes my weekly whinge. Have a beautiful weekend lovely people.
If you haven't had a great week, please tell me all about it in the comments.

Natural Supply Co

I'm very excited to tell you all the the Natural Supply Co is now open!

Natural Supply Co was born in 2014 after lifelong friends, Catherine Brooks and Celeste Fay, found that they couldn't find natural (yet delightful!) beauty, skincare and lifestyle products, along with meaningful information, in one place.

Devout lovers of all things natural yet luxurious, Celeste and Catherine are passionate about using products that harness the power of natural ingredients
and are beautiful to have in your bathroom, kitchen or home. Natural Supply Co was created to profile and share natural and low-toxic products that Catherine and Celeste love using themselves. An extra incentive was helping get the word out there about the amazing people behind the brands they stock and their stories, which led to such wonderful innovation.

The store is still evolving however they already stock some amazing brands such as Bite Beauty, W3ll People, Yard Skincare and Murchison-Hume. Use code FREESHIP to get free shipping on orders over $99.

This weeks face

Another week, another very simple face. I really miss the days where I could take time putting on my makeup and trying different looks. Now I'm usually holding Eljay in my arms and trying to stop him grabbing whatever I'm using whilst hoping Chai isn't tearing the house apart.

I didn't get much sleep this week so I've been trying to get my glow on to fake a wide awake look. Not sure I fooled anyone but it was worth a try. I didn't bother including my mascara or brow pencil as I'm using the same ones every week.

My Olay Touch of Foundation is nearly finished. I'm doing my best to use it up, it'll give me another Beauty Diet empty. My Maybelline Lumi Touch Concealer floated to the top of my make-up bag so it's been my concealer of choice this week. It's great for hiding dark circles and it wear well with only minimal creasing. I'm going to endeavour to finish this by the end of the year, that should be achievable as it's only small.

Illuminator is a must for super tired people, my choice this week was my Revlon Skinlights. Do they still make these? I'm not sure. If they don't it's a shame as they are a gorgeous product. They give a glow without being glittery or highlighting all my flaws.

A skin tone eyeliner is the secret to faking wide awake eyes and this little gem by Models Prefer is perfect. It's the Infinite Colour Eye Pencil in Nude Appeal. The colour is just the right shade to fake the wide awake look without being too bright and obvious.

Lips have been Nars Dragon Girl or L'oreal Infallible in Blossoming Berry.

I had wanted to finish my Inglot AMC blush as part of the Beauty Diet but clearly that's not going to happen. I was using it every day at the start of the year but then I got side tracked and forgot about it. In a way I'm glad I haven't finished it as it's a gorgeous colour and I'd miss it if it was gone.

My horrible eye rash has come back but I'm sick of not wearing eye make-up so I used my MAC Painterly Paint Pot. It's great for a nude wash of colour, it brightens my eyes but at the same time it's barely noticeable.

What were your favourite products this week?

FFS Friday - In the air tonight

I don't know if it's the change of seasons or there is something in the air at the moment, but I'm ready to pack it in and move. FFS.

If Tiger told me he had a residential job somewhere I'd be there in a heartbeat. FFS.

Pretty stupid considering that I've just started building a support network here. I have a few friends that I see regularly, Chai has a friend and my family is close. Moving would be stupid. FFS.

I think about it constantly. FFS.

So far I've suggested to Tiger that we move to Dubai, Cananda, Melbourne, Karratha, Perth, Bendigo, Hobart and Queensland. He hasn't said no to any of these suggestions so I live in hope. Not FFS.

Selling everything and touring around in a bus is looking pretty attractive right now too. FFS.

There are times I'm amazed that I'm allowed to be in charge of kids. FFS.

Wednesday night I put Chai to bed as per usual. About an hour later both boys woke up and when I was trying to get them back to sleep I realised that I hadn't put a nappy on Chai. FFS.

Thankfully he hadn't wee'd everywhere. Not FFS.

As I went to sleep that night I was thankful that Chai was wearing a nappy so that I wouldn't wake up in a pool of wee. Not FFS.

Must have been tempting fate or something because instead I woke up in a bloodbath. FFS.

Chai had gotten a blood nose during the night and there was blood everywhere. FFS.

All over the sheets, the quilt, the pillows, Chai and me. FFS.

By 8am I'd been awake three hours, done four loads of washing, changed two nappies, got myself and both the kids fed and dressed, striped and remade the bed and drank two coffees.

As I was hanging out the last load of washing Chai decided to smear food all over the clean quilt that was hanging on the line to dry. FFS.

Luckily I could spot clean it instead of having to wash the quilt again. FFS.

As he gets older I am seeing more and more of me in Eljay. Lucky boy. Heh.

He is a very strong willed little thing and gets extremely upset when he doesn't get what he wants. FFS.

Taking the lead from his brother he's started headbutting. FFS.

He has a permanent bruise in the middle of his forehead from headbutting things. FFS.

When I don't give him what he wants he headbutts me. FFS.

If he can't headbutt me he headbutts the floor, the wall or anything else that's in reach. FFS.

I alternate between being concerned and wanting to laugh. FFS/Not FFS.

That's the end of my weekly whinge. You probably won't hear from me next week as there is a strong chance I'll be dead. I'm going to start exercising again and instead of easing into it I've decided to do HIIT. I know it's going to kill me. If it doesn't kill me I expect I'll be totally incapacitated and unable to move my arms and legs. In light of my imminent demise, it's been lovely knowing you all, have a wonderful life.

Lanolips 101 Fruities Collection

You may recall me complaining a while ago about the Lanolips 101 Strawberry ointment being released in the UK before it was released here. You'll be pleased to know that it's now available here, along with a Peach and Apple version too. Together they make up the 101 Ointment Fruities Capsule Collection.

As with the regular 101 Ointment, the Fruities can be used all over the body. I use them mainly as lip and cuticle balms, plus I use the peach ointment on my boys for nappy rash and grazes. It's a great addition to my nappy bag because it's small and can be used for so many different purposes.
As you can see from the photo below, they have a slanted applicator meaning that they can be applied directly to the lips.

Each of the three fruits have been selected for their different benefits.
Strawberry contains alpha-hydroxy acids to help exfoliate dead skin cells.
Peach sinks into the skin easily and revives due to the combination of vitamins and polyunsaturated fats.
Apple is acidic, contains vitamins and antioxidants so acts as a natural environmental protection.

I love all my Fruities, as with the original 101 Ointment they are a great, versatile product. My only complaint is that they don't have a flavour, it'd be great if they tasted as good as they smell.

The Lanolips 101 Ointment Fruities Capsule Collection is available now from Mecca Maxima (instore and online). Each ointment costs $13.95.

The disclosure for this one is a little bit confusing. I bought the strawberry balm from Victoria Health ages ago. Then I got the peach balm free with the November issue of Elle magazine. Then I was sent all three balms to review. So that's clear as mud.

Born to Balm lip balms

Who here knew that Sophie from Born to Buy has her own range of lip balms? If you didn't before, you do now! Sophie is a lip balm addict like me so I'm sure you won't be surprised to know that her balms are pretty awesome.

Sophie was kind enough to send me all four flavours. There is Killa Vanilla, Pink Lady, Berry Ripe and Watermelody. I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite, in fact I can't pick a favourite, they're all lovely.

Lately Berry Ripe has been getting the most wear, it reminds me of my favourite lip smacker that I used for years and years until it was discontinued.

If you've tried My Lip Stuff lip balms, these have a similar type of feeling but they are a lot more hydrating. They're like My Lip Stuff on steroids. The texture is light, creamy and hydrating. There's no hint of waxiness and they feel very light on my lips. I get about three hours wear before I need to reapply, that is if I don't lick all the balm off because it tastes so good.

Born to Balm lip balms cost $9.00 and can be purchased from the Born to Buy store here

Ingredients: ricinus communis seed oil, cetyl stearyl alcohol, olea europaea fruit oil, beeswax, hydrogenated castor oil, glycine soja lipids, lauryl laurate, copernicia cerifera wax, euphorbia cerifera wax, flavor oil.

This weeks face

Finally the horrible allergy eye rash is starting to clear up so I was able to wear some colour on my eyes. I've really missed being able to wear eye shadow. I've also been trying out the eye shadow under eye trick that I saw on Lillit's blog and I really like it.

My foundation this week was Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Cover. I'm trying to use this up, I'm sure it replenishes overnight. It's lovely foundation that doesn't sink into fine lines or look cakey, so I don't mind that it seems to be taking me forever to finish.

I'm debating whether or not to keep my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. It does a good job and I quite like it, but it's not as good as my Bobbi Brown Corrector. In the interest of clearing out my stash, I'm thinking of getting rid of this. But then again, I quite like it. I'll use it a bit more before I decide.

Another favourite from Bobbi Brown is my Long Wear Cream Shadow in Slate. It's a gorgeous, buildable taupe. The great thing about Bobbi Brown cream shadows is that they don't crease, even when used without a primer.

For my under eye shadow I used the Nude By Nature Contour shade. This came in a kit that hubby got me and it's perfect for under eye definition. Once again I used my Innoxa navy liner, it's such a great product, I need to do a full review on it.

As usual, I'm using my Shu Uemura Hard Brow Pencil and Maybelline Define a Lash mascara.

I didn't get a whole lot of sleep this week, so used my Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush and powder, they really make my skin look amazing.

Lips were a combination of Bobbi Brown Pink Buff Rich Colour Gloss, Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Canvas and Victoria's Secret Smooth Kiss Glossy Lip Butter in Dare to Bare.

The Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick is a lovely, long lasting product, I'd like to get a few more shades. Bobbi Brown lipglosses are always lovely and the Victoria's Secret Lip Butter is a new favourite, it tastes amazing.

What was on your face this week?

FFS Friday

Oops, it's 12pm and I've only just realised that today is Friday. Does anyone else lose track of the days like that? I never know what day it is.

This week I finally admitted to myself that I'm over FIFO. FFS.

I've had enough, I don't want to do it anymore. FFS.

It's not going to change anything though because there are no jobs locally. FFS.

There aren't any residential jobs where Tiger works either. FFS.

We're stuck doing FIFO for the foreseeable future. FFS.

Fecking brilliant. FFS.

I keep telling myself that Tiger only works half the year and we get so much time with him that we wouldn't have if he was working a regular job, but it's not helping. FFS.

He hasn't said it, but I know that Tiger is over it too. FFS.

He's always telling me about guys who've gone back to a regular job and hated it. He's trying to convince himself that FIFO is awesome. Neither of us are buying it. FFS.

He hates it as much as I do. FFS.

I just want to have a normal life again. I know that we wouldn't see Tiger as much, but I want my husband to come home every night. I want to be able to talk to him during the day. I want to wake up with him in the mornings. I want him to be able to have a day off if I'm sick. I want him here with me. FFS.

I don't want to hear Chai crying for Daddy or see Eljay walking around the house calling for Daddy and trying to find him. I'm over it. FFS.

I really feel for people with partners in the armed forces. I get to talk to Tiger every night, those with partners in the armed forces never know when they'll get to talk to their partners. I can't imagine how difficult that would be. FFS.

That's the end of my whinge for today. If you've had any FFS worthy moments, please tell me all about them.

Easy Lentil Soup Recipe

I don't think I mentioned it on here, but a while ago I saw a nutritionist. I saw her for two different reasons, one to help with my energy levels and two to make sure I'm getting enough protein as I don't eat meat. We quickly established that my diet was severely lacking protein so she advised me to eat more legumes. Thankfully I like lentils so adding them into my diet hasn't been a problem.
One of my favourite and really easy ways to eat lentils is as soup. It couldn't be easier, it takes about half an hour to make enough to last me a week.

Ingredients:
1 large onion
1 375 gram bag of red lentils (you can use green lentils but red lentils look nicer)
8 cups of vegetable stock (or chicken stock if you aren't vegetarian)
2 tablespoons of curry powder

Method:
Chop up the onion and brown in the pot with a little bit of oil. Add the lentils, curry powder and vegetable stock, stir well then cover and simmer for half an hour.

That's it. Simple, healthy and really yummy. You can substitute curry paste for the curry powder if you want something with a bit of bite, I prefer the flavour that the curry powder gives.

This soup is really adaptable, you can add in almost anything. I've added potato, zucchini, broccoli and any other vegetables that need to be used up.

I usually add in a tablespoon of greek yoghurt just before I eat it, to give a beautiful creamy flavour.

September Empties

It's empties time again! I didn't manage to finish many products this month, but I did finish a perfume which I'm pretty pleased about.
Dr Lewinn's Sensitive Cleansing Milk - This was nice and gently cleansed my skin. Not much else to say about it.

Keratinology Express Treatment Conditioner -  Did it's job, that's it. It Doesn't compare to Original and Mineral, but nothing does so that's no surprise.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't understand the hype about Micellar waters. This was okay and if it was on special I'd buy it again as it's an effective makeup remover.
Smartskin Facial Cleansing Wipes -These are brilliant and really cheap. I get them from Coles, they cost $2 a packet and are often on sale for $1 a packet. I accidentally got the scented ones, next time I'll get unscented.
The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel - I was really sad to finish this as it smells amazing and was limited edition so I can't buy it anymore.

Franc Serum - This is a lovely winter serum. Actually it's not really a serum, it's an oil, however it sinks in quickly, leaves my skin feeling hydrated and isn't at all oily.

Chanel Chance -Whilst I'm really pleased that I finished a perfume, I'm sad that this is gone as it's one of my favourite perfumes. I'll buy it again one day, but I'm on a mission to finish up the majority of my perfumes so I won't be repurchasing any time soon.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate - I didn't particularly like this. It smelled pretty gross and stung my skin.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Antioxidant Berry -  Initially I didn't particularly like this but it grew on me and by the time I was half way through the tube I really liked it.

Allegra Rhodes Ocean Mist Hand Cream - This would make a great, light hand cream for summer. It doesn't cut it as a winter hand cream, but it smells amazing.

The Balmy Army Tag

Hahaha, I love the title of this tag. Sophie was the clever cookie who came up with this tag and of course I had to do it.

We all know that being a lip balm addict I'm not going to have just one answer for most of these questions, in fact I had trouble just choosing two or three products!

Best high end lip balm?
By Terry Baume de Rose and Dior Creme de Rose. Funny that my two favourite high end balms smell like roses. I love rose scented products.

Lip balm you have a love/hate relationship with?
Any product that has a fragrance but not a flavour. In fact, any lip product that doesn't taste good. I really don't like products that have no flavour, but having said that, there are some brilliant balms that are flavourless. It irks me even more when they smell great but don't have a flavour (I'm looking at you Lanolips Fruities and Bloom).

Best before bed lip balm?
At the moment I'm using three. Blistex Deep Renewal (I got this from iHerb), Rodial Glam Balm lip and Nuxe Reve de Miel.

Best affordable lip balm?
Now this is a difficult one. Crazy Rumors, Burt's Bees, Carmex, Nivea, Maybelline, Suvana the list goes on. I can't pick just one. In my opinion most lip balms are affordable so it really depends what you're after. The two I've been using the longest are Carmex and Crazy Rumors, so I'll go with them.

Handbag essential?
Carmex wins this one. I always have a tube of Carmex in my bag, it's great at healing really dry, sore lips and the Moisture Plus ones give a gorgeous wash of sheer colour too.

Bonus - Other or honourable mention.
I really, really want to try the La Mer lip balm. It's so, so expensive and I'm pretty sure no lip balm is worth that much, but I still want to try it. Anyone used it? Tell me it's horrible, please!
Another expensive one I really want to try is the Sisley Confort Extreme Nutritive Lip Balm. So many lip balms, so little time.
I tag:
Jessica from The Belle Lumiere
Claire from June Nightingale
Suzanne from Don't They Know Who I Am?
Natalie from The Mustard Jumper
Christine from Beautyholics Anonomous
Emma from Emma Bovary Beauty
and anyone else who would like to do this tag. If you do it, please post the link in the comments so I can have a read (and add new lip balms to my never ending wish list).

This weeks face

WooHoo! I finally got blogger to post my photo the right way around! Yay!

After being quite boring the past few weeks, I got a little more interesting with this weeks face. I was lucky enough to win the Mineralogie BB Creme in an Instagram competition. I've been wearing it all week and I love it. I can see that it'll get a lot of use this summer as it gives great coverage and it's not all all greasy.

The Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser compact I've been using as a contour. I still don't fully have the hang of contouring but I'm working on it. As this is a tinted moisturiser it's pretty foolproof so perfect to practice with.

Purely because it was on top of my make-up bag, I've been using my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. Whilst it isn't as good as my Bobbi Brown Corrector, it still does a pretty good job. I find it works better when I don't set it with powder. If I set it with powder it sinks into fine lines but when I leave it alone there is barely any settling.

Once again my blush of choice has been Hourglass. I really, really want to get the blush palette when it's released here, hopefully that will happen soon.

I still have that horrible allergic eye problem so I haven't been wearing eye shadow, I just used my Covergirl Liquiline Blast eye liner and Maybelline Define a Lash mascara.

It goes without saying that my brows were thansk to Shu Uemura Hard Brow Pencil.

After using my Pink Hope lipstick from Luma by Jess Hart, I'm really excited for the Luma range to be released. The lipstick is gorgeous, it smells beautiful, it's long lasting and all natural. Perfection. When I wasn't wearing bright pink lipstick I was wearing another new favourite, Shanghai Suzy Miss Leah (baby cocoa). This is a perfect nude for me, I'm considering buying a backup it's that good.

What have you been loving this week?

FFS Friday - FIG Jam

Happy Friday everyone! Amazingly I don't have a whole lot to complain about this week, things have gone surprisingly well and I'm not complaining.

To my great distress Tiger has discovered the amazingness that is my Lush Rose Jam shower gel. FFS.

I bought two of them when they came out last year and I've been hoarding them as they aren't available anymore. FFS.

I was hoping that Tiger wouldn't use it as they smell like roses, however he has no qualms about smelling like a rose and is in fact delighted with how great he smells after he uses Rose Jam. FFS.

My fault for marrying a metrosexual (high maintenance) man, who is secure in his masculinity. FFS.

A few months ago I got some lovely new jeans from Jeanswest. Not FFS.

In my excitement at getting new clothes (and being out for the first time without the boys), I got light coloured jeans. Big mistake. FFS.

The boys (Eljay to be exact) have ruined them already. FFS.

He put his dirty hands on me and now I have a stain on my jeans that I can't get out. FFS.
I've washed them five times and the stain is still there. FFS.

This is why I can't have nice things. FFS.

In an all boy house, nice things just get ruined. FFS.

Maybe in ten years time I'll be able to have nice things again. FFS.

Saturday we were shopping at JB Hi Fi and Chai had to go to the toilet. The poor little thing was busting and they wouldn't let him use their toilet. FFS.

What sort of place won't let a three year old use their toilet? FFS.

If we'd been in a shopping centre it wouldn't have been a problem, but we were at a stand alone store so had to leave the shop and drive to Chicken Treat, who were happy to let us use their toilet. Not FFS.

We'd gone in there to buy a vacuum and a tablet computer but walked out empty handed. FFS.

JB Hi Fi, you have lost our business.

That concludes my weekly whinge. If you've had any FFS worthy moments, please tell me all about them. If you'd like to read more whinges, head over to Sarah's blog

Dear Eljay

My precious son. Today you are fourteen months old! It seems like such a whirlwind. You're developing a really strong personality, you have such a gorgeous character.

I'm delighted that you are such a happy little boy, always running around and playing. You are very curious and love to explore. Being outside is one of your favourite things to do, as soon as you wake up you ask to go outside. If it was up to you we'd spend all day outside, no matter what the weather.

We've moved your cot away from the bed so you are sleeping a little more independently. The first week you were waking up constantly but I think you prefer sleeping on your own, in fact I think you'd prefer to be in your own room instead of in my room.

At the moment you are all about stacking things and putting lids on things. If I try to give you something from a container you are more interested in the container than you are the food. You'll spend ages putting the lid on and taking it off again.

Your favourite game is rolling around on the bed. I throw you on the bed and roll you around and you love it. You've got to the stage where you want everything your brother has, so we're having to buy two of everything. I thought it'd take a little longer to get to that stage but it didn't.

My beautiful boy. You are such a delight, I love being your mum and am so glad that you chose me. You and Chai are my greatest treasures.

Beauty Diet Update

After what feels like ages, I finally have some more beauty diet empties. Four of them, including a concealer!  I can't believe I finished a concealer! In the whole time I've been wearing make-up (around 20 years) I've only ever finished two concealers. I'm now going to try to finish a mineral powder foundation, I figure if I can finish a concealer I should be able to finish a powder foundation.

And now for the tally:
Finished - 18
Purchased - 6
Number of products I'm allowed to buy - 6

I haven't made any purchases this month and I don't have any planned for the near future, which I'm pretty pleased about.

Vita has finished her Beauty Diet now, you can read her last post on her blog. Sophie and Norlin are still going, so check their blogs to see how they are doing.

Hopefully I'll have a few more empties to post about soon, I'm working on a gloss and a primer that are very close to being finished.
