My current morning skincare routine

It's been ages since I talked skin care, mainly because I change products all the time and they're empty by the time I think to review them. Today I have a bit of down time thanks to the boys being sick and sleeping the day away, so I can tell you all about my morning skin care routine.

After cleansing I apply the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I've used half the bottle and am yet to form an opinion. I haven't noticed it doing anything amazing for my skin, but perhaps it's one of those products that you don't realise how good they are until you stop using them. I have another bottle, so once I've finished them both I'll report back.

I apply the John Plunkett Collagen Eye Lift afterwards and give it some time to absorb. This claims to have noticeable results within 60 days. I've been using it for about 30 days so far and am yet to notice results, however I am hoping for miracles. It's a lovely eye cream to use, I like the squeeze tube, it's easy to get the right amount out. The cream feels nice, absorbs quickly and keeps my eye area hydrated.

Next is the Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Absolute Serum. I'm really enjoying using this, mainly because of the gorgeous rose scent. The serum is quite creamy, feels hydrating has been very soothing on my irritated skin.

I follow this with my Danearth Antioxidant Rich Moisturising Serum. I bought this after seeing what it did for my sister's skin. Her skin looks noticeably brighter. The scent takes a little getting used to. It smells very green. I don't mind it now, but Tiger won't kiss me after I've put it on because he doesn't like the smell. It fades after a few minutes but is something to be aware of.

After that I mix some Skinstiut Vitamin C powder into my WelleCo Organic Rose Geranium Cream. I love the Vitamin C powder, it's a holy grail for me. I'm not sold on the WelleCo Rose Geranium Cream. It sounds like the type of product I'd love, the ingredients are great, but sometimes it stings when I put it on and it's just not hydrating enough for me. I'll use it up, but won't repurchase.

Last up is the Kiss Ready Skin Sun Veil Skin Balm. I'm loving this gorgeous balm. It contains Zinc Oxide so I'm using it as my sunscreen. It hasn't been tested (that costs a crazy amount of money), so the SPF rating is unofficial, but it should be around 20 to 25.
This is beautiful for dry skin, it's so hydrating and a pleasure to use. I only need a pea sized amount for my whole face and neck, a little bit goes a long way.

That's the end of my skin care routine!
What are your favourite skin care products?

Thoughts of the week

1. The Sephora Favourites sets were released this week. I was under-whelmed so didn't buy one. I was hoping for the lip kits that they have in the US, however they aren't available here.

2. I am still totally in love with our new coffee machine.

3. Kmart have 2019 diaries available now. They sell out fast, so if you want one, get onto it.

4. I've been trying out the new Invisible Zinc and it's love. The tint is barely there, so it works perfectly under make-up.

5. iHerb have an offer available this month for new customers. You get $10 off orders over $40 USD. Click here
to take advantage of the offer.

FFS Friday - Random

Hello Friday! We meet again. Yay!
I hope you've all had a lovely week. Ours was pretty good. I don't have much to complain about, but never fear, I'll come up with something.

I've been thinking lately about how we criticise others so much. We can be so very nasty and judgemental. But what I don't understand is this: why are we not okay with other people being different to us? Just because they are different, it doesn't mean they're awful. If they do things we wouldn't do, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just means they're different to us.

For example; I was on twitter reading a conversation between three people (none who I currently follow, so if you're thinking I'm talking about you, I'm not).
They were saying how they hate a certain social media personality and that they can't be friends with anyone who likes her.

I just don't get it. Firstly, why would you hate someone that you don't know? Why invest all that time and energy into reading what they have to say and then deciding to hate them? If you don't like what they have to say, unfollow. It's easy and means you're not wasting your time on negativity.

Secondly, so what if your friends like different things to you? Doesn't that make the friendship interesting? How boring would life be if we all liked the same things?

The thought of having friends who agree with everything I say horrifies me. We'd have nothing to talk about. I love when my friends disagree with me, it leads to interesting conversations.

We can't hope to expand our interests if we stick to the same old same old.

Stepping off my soap box now.

Next topic: Some people are truly amazing. They really are. They face such adversity and despite it they continue to thrive, they're positive, happy and just amazing.

That's all.

2018 Project Pan Update Four

Only two months until my project pan is finished for this year. So how am I doing?

I've now finished forty four products, which means I should get pretty close to my aim of fifty empties for the year.

I've found it fascinating to see which products I actually finish and which ones I don't. Moving forward, it'll make my purchases a lot easier as I'll have a clear idea how often I finish that particular product.

Here's my tally:

Foundations - 6 (2 minis)
Mascaras - 5
Primers - 8 (4 minis)
Blush - 2 (1 mini)
Brow products - 2
Eyeliners - 2
Lip products - 16 (2 minis)

I haven't managed to finish a face powder, lip liner or concealer, so clearly I don't need to be buying them for a long time. Bases, primers and lip products are the only items I finish regularly and I have plenty of them, so really I don't need to do any shopping at all. I'm still considering a no buy for 2019

Thoughts of the week

1. Who's watching the UFC today? We are.

2. The Bachelor is over and he picked no-one. I don't understand why you'd go on a show like that if you weren't ready to settle down. Makes no sense to me.

3. The Too Faced Peach Kiss lipsticks are finally available at Mecca. I bought one and love it. It's smooth, long lasting and smells amazing.

4. The new Samsung watches are available and they look amazing. They come in two sizes and there is a rose gold version!

5. I really want to read this book

FFS Friday - Coffee

Hello Friday! We made it! This weeks been really up and down for me. Monday I said goodbye to one of my favourite people, she's moving overseas to live. After seeing her almost every day for the last seven months, her absence will leave a huge hole in my life.

You know those people you meet and you instantly like them? She was one of those. Those people who understand you, don't judge. The ones who you feel better just by being in their presence. Those people are rare and should be cherished. Whilst I'll still get to chat to her online, it'll be years until I see her again.

Thankfully Mum and my Step Dad came down for a few days, which softened the blow, then Tiger came home. Highs and lows. That's what life is like isn't it? Good times and bad times. Focus on the good, forget about the bad and that's all you can do.

To add to the excitement, this week we got a new coffee machine. After suffering without a coffee machine the whole time Tiger was away (which was cruel and unusual torture), the coffee machine was fixed the day he got home. Talk about timing.

Our machine is four years old. It's been a great machine, but it's starting to cost us money. We've fixed everything on it that could break, however we decided to sell it and get a new one. The new one is amazing! Coffee machine technology has come a long way in the last four years. The new machine makes coffee as good as you'd buy in a coffee shop. It's so good that when we're going out we make our coffee at home and bring it with us. I'm in love.

That's all I've got to report this week. Have a beautiful weekend.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm

It's no secret that I'm in love with Bite Beauty products. I love every product that I've tried from the range, in my eyes they can do no wrong.

The Agave Lip Masks are amazing, so I was excited to try the Agave Lip Balm. The first time I used it I hated it. It was hard, dragged across my lips and felt awful. I tried it a few more times with the same result and decided it was a total fail. I tossed it aside for a few months, then pulled it out to give it another go.

Surprisingly the next time it was a lot better. The hardness was gone, it glided across my lips and stayed put for around four hours. If you like thick balms that you can feel on your lips, you'll like Agave Lip Balm.

This isn't a balm that you can carry around in your pocket, as soon as it warms up it gets very soft and breaks easily. It's the type of balm that you leave at home and apply in the morning, reapply at lunchtime or use as a night time intensive treatment.

Agave Lip Balm has a soft vanilla scent with no flavour. It's a very hydrating balm, if I apply it at night it's still on my lips in the morning. I don't find that it heals my lips when they're cracked, however it does a great job at keeping them soft and hydrated.

If you need a thick, very hydrating balm, Agave Lip Balm is worth checking out. I purchased mine from Sephora for $30.
