Thoughts of the week

1. Is anyone else concerned by the whole Kanye West/Kim Kardashian saga? I refuse to read any media coverage of it, but the few things I've seen on Instagram are very concerning. The way he's behaving is abusive. He's clearly not mentally stable and the media are making things so much worse. When people are vulnerable they should be left alone not preyed on.

2. I am a Wordle failure. It's quite alarming how much I struggle to think of five letter words. I read a lot, I have a good vocabulary but I fail at Wordle.

3. Who's pre ordered the new Samsung Galaxy S22? Telstra have a really good pre order offer if you need a new phone.

4. The Body Shop are selling their body mists for $10 at the moment. They're usually $19.

5. I just searched the unclaimed money site and found I'm owed $1. WooHoo!

FFS Friday - Strike

Hello beautiful people. How are you all? I am melting. After two very mild summers we're having a hot summer and I'm just not here for it.
The upside of the horribly warm weather is that I haven't been doing much. When it's hot I sit on the couch and refuse to move because it's too hot. I've read so many books, it's been wonderful. Two more books until I've finished the whole Virgin River series.

Remember how I went on strike years ago? I'm still on strike. The house is a mess and I'm not cleaning it.
I've now extended the strike and refuse to use the outside clothesline. Let me explain.
Our clothesline was out the back/side of our house in an area that Tiger does not look after at all. In summer it gets really hot, it's all overgrown with weeds, has an ant problem and is just horrible. I'm sure wild beasts live out there too. I refused to use that line because I didn't want to be attacked by a wild animal, so Tiger put a rope line under the back patio. I've been using it for years.

At the end of last year Tiger decided the rope clothesline needed to go as it was in the way of his home gym. This is the home gym that he used during lockdown back in March 2020 and has not touched since.

Without consulting me he moved the side/back clothesline from the wild jungle and put it at the side of the house so that I could use it. Then he removed the rope clothesline.
The first time I went to hang the washing out I discovered I couldn't even reach the line because it was too high. Tiger didn't believe me (I know, wtf?) so I demonstrated to him that even standing on my tippy toes I could barely reach the line.
Without measuring he moved it down, but it's still too high. I can reach it when I stand on my tippy toes, but hanging out the washing now hurts my neck and shoulder.

I've persevered with it until Wednesday when I had enough and the clothesline strike commenced. I'm not using that stupid outside clothes line until it's low enough for me to reach it without injuring myself.

For the time being I'm hanging our washing on clothes airers in the lounge room.  How long do you think it's going to be until the clothes line situation is resolved? I'm not holding my breath. Maybe I should refuse to hang out or bring in any washing and make Tiger do it all. Hmm, good idea.

 Have a good weekend lovelies.

Two cream blushes I'm loving

I started writing this post last month before the face mask mandates came in, so let's just pretend I'm still wearing make-up whilst I tell you about the cream blushes that I was loving back when I wore make-up.

Blush is one of those products that I don't really get. It looks great on other people but on me unless it's really sheer I just look like a clown and I don't like it at all. I've experimented with different placements and blush types, but struggle to make them work.

For the past six months I've been using cream blush and I'm in love. The ones I have can also be used on the lips which makes for quick, easy make-up. I apply them quite sheerly, just enough to brighten my face but not enough to make me look like a clown.

The blushes I'm using are 100% Pure Pink Grapefruit and Flower Beauty Strawberry Crush. They're both pretty, cool toned pinks.

Top: 100% Pure Pink Grapefruit. Bottom: Flower Beauty Strawberry Crush.

100% Pure Pink Grapefruit smells like fruit and is quite pigmented. It last all day on my cheeks and around three hours on the lips. It's a great tinted lip balm and I could see myself purchasing others to use exclusively on my lips. This is a hydrating product so great for my dry skin.

Flower Beauty Strawberry Crush is quite sheer, with buildable coverage. It isn't as hydrating as 100% Pure but still works well as a lip tint. It'd probably be a better option for people with oily skin as it's a little drier.

What's your favourite cream blush?

Thoughts of the week

1. I'm still here. I'll get back to posting regularly again sometime soon (I hope).

2. The boys have finished their first week back at school and loved it. They've both got beautiful teachers so that's wonderful.

3. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do all day now that the boys aren't here to amuse me. Being unsupervised all day is quite alarming.

4. There are so many jobs going at the moment and I'd really like one. There's one major issue though. I can't get to my resume. It's on the hard drive of my old PC that's so old I can't hook it up to a screen to get it working. I'm going to have to take it into a computer shop to get the info off it, but we don't have the spare funds for that at the moment.

5. Who's been shopping? I've only bought essential items, it's very boring.
