FFS Friday - Fully Fatspo

The kids are determined to make sure that I don't get fit. FFS.

I'm not Fully Fitspo I'll be Fully Fatspo instead. FFS.

Eljay has now decided he hates the creche at the gym, to the point where he cries as soon as we get into the car park. FFS.

I'll just stay overweight and unfit until he's in school. FFS.

That's three years away. FFS.

Great.

I'm one of those kindy mothers who has no idea. FFS.

A total fail. FFS.

Last Friday was Chai's sports day. FFS.

He was doing one race. FFS.

I assumed it'd be no big deal, they'd just do their race and that was it. I was wrong. FFS.

I get there in the morning and everyone is all dressed up in their faction colours. FFS.

I didn't even know what faction Chai was in. FFS.

Total Mummy fail. FFS.

It's a kindy race! FFS.

And WTF is with the competitiveness of the parents? I just don't get it. The kids are 4 and 5, who cares where they place. FFS.

Clearly, a lot of the parents do care. FFS.

They were all talking about who came first. Like it matters. FFS.

All the kindy kids got a sticker so they were happy. Not FFS.

My little champion had a great time running his race. Half way through he was having so much fun looking around and taking it all in that he stopped running and started skipping. It was so cute. Not FFS.

He was so proud of how fast he ran and really pleased that he got a sticker for running so fast. Not FFS.

This whole kindy mother thing is a world I don't understand and I just don't fit in with it. It makes no sense to me at all. Why put pressure on a child to run fast? Who cares if they can run fast? It's not an essential life skill. We don't have to run from wild beasts any more so who gives a flying figtree if someone can run fast or not?

And dress up days! Don't get me started on them! FFS.

Chai had a dress up day on Wednesday. FFS.

The last one was a fail so I was determined to be on the ball for this one. It was an Under The Sea theme and my little character decided he wanted to go as seaweed. Awesome. Easy. I bought him a green t-shirt, green shorts, green hairspray, green headband and green streamers. I'd planned on adorning the headband and t-shirt with streamers but Chai only wanted the headband done. FFS.

He was most excited about having green hair and green shorts, the rest didn't fuss him. On kindy day he got all dressed (note the shoes he chose) and it took a lot of convincing to get him to wear the headband. I had it on him for 2 minutes before he took it off and refused to put it back on again. FFS.

He went to kindy with green shorts, green t-shirt and green hair, that was his costume. Another mummy fail. FFS.

Ah well, at least I'm consistent. Heh.

Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend.

Colour Theory Lipstick and Liner - A pleasant surprise

I have to admit that I can be a bit of a make-up snob. I like my expensive lipsticks, to me they are an affordable luxury. Because of this I often overlook  cheaper brands.

When I was sent some Colour Theory products to try I wasn't expecting anything amazing, however I was very pleasantly surprised.

Siren lipstick is a beautiful, cool toned, matte red that lasts at least eight hours on me. Yes, you read that right, eight hours. How amazing is that? I put it on first thing in the morning, wore it all day, didn't do any touch ups and had to remove it at the end of the day. When I wear it with the lip liner it lasts even longer! Amazingly, for such a long lasting product, it isn't drying at all. I've been using it without lip balm underneath and my lips haven't suffered at all.
Read-y Steady Go lip liner, Siren lipstick

The lip liner is creamy, long lasting and easy to apply which is exactly what I look for in a lip liner.

Read-y Steady Go lip liner, Siren lipstick
At only $6.00 each these are an absolute bargain. You can buy Colour Theory products from Amcal Chemists.
I've already picked up another lipstick and am planning on getting more lip liners.

Thoughts of the week

1. I've struggled to get to the gym this week now that Chai is back at kindy and Tiger is away. I need to get myself into some sort of a routine, hopefully I'll manage that next week.

2. Speaking of the gym, I'm also feeling like I'm not getting good enough results. This was my fourth week. I don't think I've lost much (if any) weight, I'm not seeing any difference in the way my clothes fit either. I have increased my weights so I know I'm getting stronger, but I wonder if I'm putting in enough effort.

3. I'm going to take a good look at my diet and portion sizes this week to see if that helps and I'll also up my water intake.

4. Chai did his first running race on Friday, watching him was so cute. My baby is growing up.

5. Sasha won the bachelorette! I knew he would, I've been team Sasha right from the start.

6.  These Madame Flavour teas are awesome.

FFS Friday - Crap

Hello and welcome to another edition of FFS Friday. Are you sick of it yet? Let's hope not cause I'm about to get my whinge on again.

So what's given me the shits this week? I'll tell you.

Tiger went back to work this week. FFS.

Chai has been miserable ever since. FFS.

The poor baby has been so upset. FFS.

He's cried every time I've dropped him off at kindy, I hate seeing him so upset. FFS.

FIFO sucks. FFS.

Unfortunately if we want to stop FIFO it means moving to the Pilbara. FFS.

I hate hot weather, I'm pretty sure it'd kill me. FFS.

I'm trying to convince Tiger to agree to sell everything, buy a fun bus and tour around the country, but he just won't be in it. Spoilsport. FFS.

This week my FullyFitspo journey has come to a grinding halt. FFS.

Eljay has decided that he hates the creche. FFS.

This means I can only exercise when Tiger is home or when I can get someone to look after the boys. FFS.

It's pretty rare that I can get someone to look after them. FFS.

I spoke to my trainer and she's going to write me a program that I can do at home. Worst case scenario I'll have to smash the gym when Tiger is home and work out at home when he's away. It's not ideal but it's better than nothing.

Yesterday I had Eljay booked in to the creche. He was all excited that he got to take a back pack with food in it and everything was fine until I went to leave the creche. FFS.

He got so upset that he started sobbing. FFS.

I showed him the gym and had big talk to him about me going to exercise and we're trying again today. Wish me luck.

Meanwhile all sorts of crap is going down with my family. I'm surrounded on all sides by crappy stuff and it sucks. FFS.

Speaking of crap, we haven't had a good poo story for a while. I know how much you all love my poo stories.

Yesterday evening I was getting Eljay ready for bed. I'd let him have a nudie run for a while because he has a little bit of nappy rash and I wanted to give it time to air out. We were in his bedroom and just as I picked him up he said "poo poo Mummy".

I asked him if he needed to do a poo and he said yes.

As I was laying him down on the change table I stepped forward and felt something squishy under my foot. FFS.

Then I noticed that there was poo all down Eljay's leg. FFS.

And all over the floor. FFS.

And under my foot. FFS.

And all over the change table. FFS.

It took me ten minutes to clean it all up. FFS.

For the next half hour I was sure that I could still feel poo on the bottom of my foot. FFS.

Fun times. FFS.

I'll conclude my post on that high note and see you all back here next Friday for my weekly whine session.

September Empties

Since we're more than half way through October it's high time I showed you my September empties.

Crazy Rumors Trick or Treat lip balm - I love these balms, they are one of my all time favourite balms. If you haven't tried them yet, what are you waiting for?

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen - Another holy grail, this is one of my favourite sunscreens. Read my full review here

Clinique High Impact mascara - This is a great, every day mascara. It doesn't do amazing things, but it's effective, doesn't smudge and is one that I'd happily purchase.

Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Makeup Corrector Pen - What a brilliant invention! So much easier than using a cotton bud. I'll be repurchasing this asap.
Garnier Miracle Skin Cream - Love, love, love. If that's not enough information, you can read my full review here

L'oreal Gentle Eyes and Lips makeup remover - Worked well and that's really all I have to say.

Aveda Shampure Shampoo - Smells amazing!

Subtle Energies Mogra Rejuvenating Gold Cream - This is my holy grail winter moisturiser. It smells beautiful and is a dream to use.

Aim Toothpaste - What can I say? It's toothpaste.
Rexona Woman Cotton Fresh deodorant - Did the trick.

Shore Soap Company Coffee Scrub - This smells lovely but wasn't great to use in winter. I'd say it'd be much better in summer. The oil separated and because it was solid I couldn't mix it back into the scrub. I tried melting it down but every time it re-solidified the oil separated again.

Puretopia face scrub - Another holy grail product. I used up lots of holy grails this month. Love this scrub and I already have another one.
Bath and Bodyworks Warm Vanilla Sugar HandiBac - I wish this was available here, it's a brilliant product. Instead of using those horrible drying hand sanitisers, this is a moisturising antibacterial cream. Brilliant. Lanolips do one now, but I love the scent of the Bath and Bodyworks version.

Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo - Did the trick.

ModelCo Cream Cleanser - I really enjoyed this cleanser, so much so that I've repurchased it. It's nothing fancy, just a good, pleasant smelling cream cleaner.

Now onto the tosses.
Sanctuary Spa Ultimate Facial Cleansing Oil and the Sierra Bees tinted lip balms get a special mention.
The Sanctuary Spa cleansing oil didn't clean my makeup off very easily and left a horrible film on my eyes that wouldn't clear for at least half an hour. I used it about three times before I tossed it.
The Sierra Bees balms were really cheap on iHerb and now I know why. They were all very grainy, full of white lumps and every one of them applied clear. They are all in the bin now too.

The rest of my tosses are either old or just didn't work for me.

Thoughts of the week

1. Well look at me, I'm doing thoughts of the week! Who would have thought I had enough thoughts for a weekly post? I certainly didn't and here I am doing my third Thoughts of the Week post. Go me.

2. Chai went back to kindy this week. I miss having him around. Having said that, it's so much easier only having one child to manage.

3. I didn't think I'd say this but I've been really enjoying getting fit. I've never been a gym person but it's been quite fun. I don't really love the exercise but I love knowing that I'm working towards being stronger, fitter and healthier.

4. It's also nice seeing my body change, I feel like I'm getting back to the old, healthy me.

5. We had the PILs here this week. As much as they annoy me, I love having them around and wish that they lived closer. Seeing them with the boys is a beautiful thing, the joy on the faces of the PILs and the boys is such a delight.

Saturday Skincare - Clarins Holy Grails

There are very few products that I've repurchased, I'm always trying something new and rarely stick with one product. When I do repurchase something, you know it's amazing. Two products that I've purchased over and over again are the Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase and the Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate.

Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate is a sensitive skin miracle worker. I used one bottle and my skin was no longer sensitive. Magic. It helps to repair the skins barrier, so if your sensitivity is due to a compromised barrier then you need Skin Beauty Repair. I keep a bottle on hand for hayfever season when my skin goes crazy. At $80 for a 15ml bottle it isn't cheap, but it truly is worth every cent.

The whole HydraQuench range is lovely, you really can't go wrong with anything from the range. Intensive Serum Bi-Phase is an essential part of my winter skin care regime. It feels like water and absorbs instantly, I can't even feel it on my skin, but it's super hydrating. I use it as an extra serum under my regular serum for an extra hit of hydration. The days I don't wear it my skin feels dry, tight and uncomfortable. A little goes a long way, a gwp size 5ml bottle lasts me two months with once daily use.

What are your holy grail products?

#FullyFitspo Friday

This is the third week of my Fully Fitspo journey. I'll be having another appraisal next week so it'll be interesting to see how far I've come.  I'm hoping to have lost some centimetres.

This week I did two gym workouts and my first RPM class. I'm still trying to find the right balance of classes and gym work. It's made more difficult because I have to work everything around Eljay's nap time, Chai's kindy and the creche opening hours. Ideally I'd like to do two classes and at least two gym workouts a week, however I'm not sure that will be possible. My first and second week I did three sessions total, this week wiht Tiger home I've done three sessions and am planning to do another gym workout tomorrow.

I haven't weighed myself but I have noticed that my jeans are looser and my muffin top is gone, yay! My stomach has shrunk too and it has more definition to it. I've also noticed that my gym sessions are getting easier so this week I upped my weights.

Another bonus is that I'm starting to have more energy. Eljay sleeping a little better helps, but I'm definitely noticing that I have more energy and am finding it easier to get through the day. I've cut out the daily chocolate and iced coffee and I'm not craving them which is great. If I get a sugar craving I'll have 1 square of dark chocolate. Funnily enough, I've only been craving chocolate once or twice a week which is great.

I'll take a progress picture for my next post, I wish I'd thought to take weekly photos so that I could compare, I'll start doing that from now on.

FFS Friday - Schmexy

Last Saturday got off to a slow start. I hadn't had much sleep thanks to Eljay so was pottering around the house in my pj's. FFS/Not FFS.

I decided to test out a few products for the blog, so put on a face mask and red lipstick, as you do.

I was washing the face mask off when the door bell rang. FFS.

It was 9.30am so I figured it'd be one of the neighbours, who else would knock on my door at 9.30am on a Saturday morning?

I should have known better. FFS.

It was a religious caller. FFS.

To make it worse, he was a family friend that I haven't seen for about 20 years. FFS.

He recognised me straight away. FFS.

It was only after he left that I remembered I was wearing the remnants of a face mask and bright red lipstick. Hehe.

That afternoon I took the kids down to the Youthtastic event. It's an awesome event that the council puts on for youth and everything is free.

Eljay spent most of the time throwing tantrums for no reason at all. FFS.

Hello Terrible Two's. FFS.

He's been throwing a lot of tantrums lately. FFS.

They're random and I can't seem to win. FFS.

Saturday he was all over the place. FFS.

He asked for his football then threw a tantrum when I gave it to him. FFS.

I took it back and he kicked the tantrum up a notch. FFS.

I gave it back to him and he continued to tantrum. FFS.

After about an hour of constant, inconsolable tantrums I needed a break so I walked five steps away to get some distance. Chai couldn't see me so went into instant panic mode and started crying and yelling out for me. FFS.

And so our day went. FFS.

Fun. Or not. FFS.

I feel like I try everything to make the kids happy and it just doesn't work. FFS.

When Tiger is home they're fine but when he's away they're miserable. FFS.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. FIFO sucks. It isn't healthy for the families or the person who's away. And despite what they try to tell you, kids don't get used to it. FFS.

I've started my new eating plan and I'm loving it. As a treat I went out and bought Caramelised Buckini's ($13.20 for 500g) and organic shredded coconut ($7.20 for 200g). I've been eating them sparingly because they're expensive. FFS.

Sunday I decided to indulge myself and had buckini's, shredded coconut and cacao nibs for breakfast. Eljay saw me eating it, asked for a mouthful and then stole it off me. FFS.

He then proceeded to throw it all over the theatre room. FFS.

He never does that when I'm eating oats or something cheap. FFS.

This week we had the PIL's here. FFS.

MIL tries her best to help out but usually just creates more work for me. If only she'd check with me before "helping". FFS.

This time she took it upon herself to rearrange all of Chai's drawers and wardrobe. FFS.

I have a system. It's pretty clear. One drawer for underwear and socks, one drawer for shorts, bathers and kindy bottoms (shorts and pants), one drawer for trackies and jeans, one drawer for pj's. His hanging clothes are divided into t'shirts, long sleeved tops, jackets/jumpers etc and kindy tops. Simple.

MIL decided to randomly hang all the hanging clothes and rearrange his drawers. FFS.

There were pj's hanging up, pj's in with the shorts, she moved the singlets to another drawer, shifted all the kindy clothes, found some clothes that don't fit him any more and put them in his drawers, took clothes out of his drawers and left them on the stool and created total havoc. FFS.

It took me 20 minutes to fix it up again. FFS.

I'd only just put everything away before she visited and decided to rearrange it all. FFS.

If she'd just spoken to me she could have saved us both a whole lot of time and effort. FFS.

Ah well. At least she visits and tries to help out.

Project Life Detox

After a huge derailment I'm finally getting back on track with my Project Life Detox. I've started exercising, I got the diet through from my naturopath and things are looking up. The house is a total mess but I've decided to concentrate on myself first. Once I've got myself detoxed and sorted out then I can focus on getting the house detoxed. Small steps.

Health wise, it's really important that I get back on track because it appears that my Crohn's is active again. I've been complacently assuming that it's all okay when in fact it might not be. That just means that I need to be extra vigilant with my self care. I have an appointment with my gastro Dr next month so we'll see what he has to say.

I really like the recipe ideas that I got off the naturopath, she's given me recipes that I never would have considered making but they're super easy. One of my favourites is CADA. It's a breakfast of shredded coconut, almonds, dates and apple. I mix them all together in the blender and that's it. Super easy, very light and perfect for someone like me who hates breakfast.

My exercise plan is going well. I can't say that I love it, but at the same time I don't hate it either. I'm going three times a week and planning to go four times a week when Tiger is home.

We are also getting our finances sorted which I'm really excited about. Tiger and I are totally different financially, he's a spender and I'm a saver. This has caused us a lot of grief in the past but we are finally on the same page and working together towards the same goal. Yay!

Natural lip balms you need to try

This was originally going to be a Top Three Tuesday post but who am I kidding? There is no way I can narrow it down to my three favourite natural balms. Instead I'll show you some of the natural balms that I love. I've left out a few that I constantly rave about and added in some balms that you might not have heard of.

Little Bird Organic paw paw - Cheap, all natural and available at Coles, you can't go past these balms. They're super hydrating, have a lovely glossy finish and are multi-purpose.

Olive Natural Skin Care - When you are looking for a light, low fragrance balm this is the one you need. I like to use this under matte lipstick, I massage a little bit on to keep my lips hydrated.

Badger Balm - Badger Balm is one of the first all natural balms that I tried and it's still a favourite. You can't go wrong with any of them, however the cocoa butter balms are my go to balms in winter, they're deeply hydrating and the huge tube lasts for ages.

Avalon Organics - This is an iHerb discovery, I'm not sure if it's available in Australia, I haven't seen their products here yet. The peppermint green tea balm is lovely and refreshing, I love using it when I want a bit of a zing.

Crazy Rumors - Coffee lovers, you need to get hold of some of the Perk balms, they are amazing. I'd happily only use Crazy Rumors balms for the rest of my life. Okay that's a lie, I'd want to use other balms, but still, you get the idea.

Vasse Virgin - I'm guessing most of you will not have heard of Vasse Virgin which is a shame because they make beautiful olive oil based products. I love their balms, as do my boys. They're creamy, hydrating and smell beautiful.

EOS - I've included these for the novelty factor. I don't find them to be overly hdyrating, however they're fine for maintenance when my lips aren't dry. My boys love EOS balms because they double as a ball, haha.

Eco Store - Ah Eco Store. Their entire range of products is beautiful. The peppermint lip balm is perfection. There's a beeswax balm too which is on my wishlist.

What's your favourite natural lip balm?

My eye liner collection

A while ago I posted my eye liner destash. After my destash I had 30 eye liners. I've gotten rid of more since then, found a few that I had hidden away elsewhere and am slowly getting rid of the ones that I don't love.

I still have 25 (it was 27 but I threw two out after I took the photo) eye liners which I think is way too many so I'll be working on using them up. I don't have any duplicates but some of the colours are very similar, so I'm planning on pulling out all the similar colours, using them all for a few days each and then tossing the ones that aren't amazing.

What do you all think is a reasonable amount of eye liners to have?
I'm thinking seven.
1 brown, 1 grey, 1 nude (for the inner water line), 1 navy, 1 green, 1 purple and 1 bright (probably turquoise).
At the moment I also have two burgundy liners which I'm not sure I'll wear. I'm going to test them out and make a final decision, but I suspect they'll be going.

Is seven eye liners enough? Are there any colours that I'm missing?

Thoughts of the week

1. I've finished my second week of exercising and I'm feeling good. I did three workouts this week and wasn't half as sore as the first week.

2. Tiger and I have been taking a good look at our finances and figuring out where we are heading. A move could be on the cards. I really, really don't want to move.

3. Having said that, if it means getting our finances sorted then it has to be done.

4. Tiger is home tonight. I've managed to survive the school holidays solo and him doing a longer swing. Not sure my sanity is intact though.

5. Justin Biebers schlong is all over the internet. WTF is wrong with people that they think it's okay to photograph someone in private and then publish it for the world to see? It's a huge breach of privacy. The sites that published the photos are just as bad as the photographer who took it. IMO breaching someones privacy like that should be illegal.

6. Seriously what is it with boys and nudity? My boys would be naked all the time if I let them. From the Biebs photos I'm thinking it's a male thing. Surely wandering around the house naked isn't something that people do regularly?

7. Lately I've been struggling with the mundanity of life. Normally a positive person, I've been negative and unhappy. This post is exactly what I needed to read.

FFS Friday

For at least a year now I've been getting a pain in my stomach. FFS.

It comes and goes randomly for no identifiable reason. FFS.

I saw the Dr, had blood tests and an ultrasound but nothing showed up so she said she didn't know what it was and that was the end of it. FFS.

Monday it came back again, but worse than usual. FFS.

Since I have a new Dr now, I made an appointment and went to see him. He thinks it's my Crohn's. FFS.

I thought that if it was Crohn's I'd be sick, but he said that I'll only get sick if it's really bad. FFS.

I now have an appointment with my gastro Dr. FFS.

If it is my Crohn's I won't be very happy with the other Dr. It'll mean that my Crohn's has been active and causing issues for over a year and I've done nothing about it. FFS.

I am trying not to worry about it, but I am worrying. FFS.

Wednesday I put both the boys in the creche at the gym so that I could do a pump class.

They'd been mucking around all morning so I was running late. FFS.

I signed them in, settled them, spoke to the staff and then left.

I forgot to tell the staff where I was going. FFS.

When I got back I could hear Eljay crying. FFS.

The poor baby was inconsolable. FFS.

He was so upset he was sobbing. FFS.

It took me ten minutes to calm him down. FFS.

The creche staff had come looking for me but since I didn't tell them where I'd be, they couldn't find me. FFS.

Mother of the year. FFS.

The boy's campaign to stop me watching The Bachelorette continues. FFS.

Normally they go to bed and I don't hear from them until 11pm at the earliest. Except on Wednesday and Thursday nights. FFS.

Wednesday night Eljay woke up at 7.50pm and I didn't get him back to sleep until 8.25pm. FFS.

I only just saw the rose ceremony. FFS.

Seriously, what's with that? It's the only time I watch tv and they are determined to ruin it. FFS.

That's the end of my weekly whinge. If you have anything to complain about, please do so in the comments.

Treat Yo Self Thursday

Sometimes you just want to feel good. Whether you're having a bad day, feeling sick or you just want a pick me up, beauty products are a great way to cheer yourself up.

Today I'm sharing with you some of the products I reach for when I need to perk myself up.

The Body Shop is one of my favourite stores, they have so many beautiful products. Their new Spa of the World range is beautiful, I love everything I've tried so far. The products aren't cheap but are worth the splurge. I've been using Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil almost daily, it smells so beautiful and can be used on my hair and as a body treatment.

If you're in the market for a fresh summer scent, you can't go past Italian Summer Fig. It's a gorgeous, fresh green scent that I can see myself wearing all summer.

Nudus is one of my all time favourite lipstick brands. They are all natural and just beautiful. At $42 each they aren't cheap, but are well worth the splurge.

Lazy/time poor beauties will love the Shore Soap Co Moisturizer Sticks. I swipe some on, rub it in and I'm good to go. I have the green tea scent which smells beautiful and also works as a very light perfume on days when I don't want a strong fragrance.

L'Occitane make some of my favourite hand creams. If I could only use one brand of hand cream for the rest of my life it'd be L'Occitane. This is the first time I've used their Rose hand cream and it's heavenly. It's deeply hydrating, absorbs quickly and smells amazing.

Naturally there had to be a lip balm in this post. Most of the lip balms that I use cost under $15. Every now and again though, I want a treat and a little bit of luxury, so I'll splurge on an expensive lip gloss. Sara Happ The Lip Slip is a beautiful balm to buy when you want to treat yourself. It has a tiny bit of shimmer and is a dream to apply.

What products do you use to perk yourself up or when you want a treat?

Burt's Bees Lip Crayons

Sedona Sands, Nappa Vineyard, Carolina Coast

My obsession with chubby lip crayons knows no bounds. It's impossible for me to walk past a lip crayon without buying one or two. I love how convenient lip crayons are. They are small, easy to store and they're so much lighter than carrying around lipsticks.

The Burt's Bees lip crayons are some of my favourites because they are so long lasting. I was expecting them to be glossy but they aren't, they are matte, long lasting lipsticks with great pigmentation. I get at least six hours wear before I need to reapply.

I have three of the six shades available, Sedona Sands, Nappa Vineyard and Carolina Coast. Sedona Sands is a muted, cool nude pink. Nappa Vineyard is a gorgeous deep burgundy red and Carolina Coast is a mid tone cool pink.

Unlike a lot of matte lipsticks, these aren't drying and don't make my lips feel parched when I'm wearing them, the colour sets but stays slightly glossy. At $16.95 you really can't go wrong with these!

Thoughts of the week

1. We got a trampoline for the boys last month. I don't think it's possible to jump on a trampoline without smiling. It's so much fun!

2. This was the first week of school holidays here in WA. I love having my big boy home with me.

3. As much as I love it, keeping both the kids amused is difficult, especially down here where there aren't many parks and playgrounds.

4. I started exercising this week.

5. I am so very sore. I'd forgotten what it was like to be sore all over.

FFS Friday - Send help

Well look at me, two posts in one day!

This week has been a doozy and it's all my fault. FFS.

Clever me decided to start night weaning Eljay this week. FFS.

It was also the week I started exercising again. FFS.

The first week of school holidays. FFS.

And Tiger is away for an extra five days this time. FFS.

Great timing Glossy. FFS.

It all started Saturday night. Eljay was up every hour wanting to feed. FFS.

That was the last straw. FFS.

I got up Sunday morning determined to wean him. FFS.

I was so tired and I had my gym appraisal that morning. FFS.

After the appraisal I consulted Dr Google, headed to the shops and got everything I needed to dry up my milk supply. FFS.

After speaking to Tiger and my sister and calming down a little, I made the decision to night wean. FFS.

I explained to Eljay that I was no longer going to feed him at night, that he could have a cuddle and some water but he wouldn't get a feed at night. Fat lot of good it did. FFS.

Sunday night he woke up three times and screamed for fifteen minutes each time. FFS.

Monday our day started at 3.30am. FFS.

Monday night he woke up four times and screamed for ten minutes each time. FFS.

Tuesday our day started at 4.30am. FFS.

Wednesday he woke up once and cried for about two minutes. FFS.

Thursday our day started at 5.50am.

Last night he was up three times, but didn't cry, I just had to resettle him. FFS.

Today our day started at 4.50am. FFS.

Poor Chai has been so tired, he wakes up as soon as I get out of bed so he's been waking up early and won't sleep during the day. FFS.

Thanks to his tiredness he's been in beast mode all week. FFS.

He's so bad that I've been seriously wondering where I've gone wrong as a parent. FFS.

He's a screaming, hitting, angry little monster. FFS.

I'm totally exhausted and struggling to make it through each day so my tolerance levels are at an all time low. FFS.

Added to that I am so, so sore from exercising, every move hurts. FFS.

Even not moving hurts. FFS.

My hayfever cleared up whilst I was on steroids but it's now back and worse than ever. FFS.

It's still over a week until Tiger gets home, I'm seriously wondering how we'll survive until then. FFS.

Send help.
And vodka.
And wine.
And coffee.
And chocolate.
And steroids. That should cover everything.

#FullyFitspo Friday

I mentioned last week that I've started a fitness journey. Thanks to Hot FM and the South West Sport Centre I was lucky enough to win a three month gym membership. I'm going to use it to figure out what type of exercise I like and what works for me.

By some miracle I have finished week one of my 12 week Fully Fitspo journey. Last Sunday I had an appointment with Kelly and she made a program for me that I love. Other than the warm up there are no traditional gym machines!

My goals are:
Be able to throw Chai around easily (he's 21 kg's).
Have a fitness program that I enjoy and can do long term.
Feel healthy and fit.
Have more energy.

You'll note there are no weight related goals. The way I see it is this. Weight is irrelevant. If I'm exercising regularly, eating clean and feeling good, then my weight will sort itself out.

My starting point isn't wonderful and it isn't terrible. I'm 69.3kg's with 24% body fat. I didn't get all my measurements, I'll get them and update my post when I have them.

Whilst I've done plenty of exercise in the past, I've done nothing since falling pregnant and having kids. I've never been a gym person, I've tried it in the past and it hasn't worked for me, so I was a little apprehensive and assumed that I'd use my membership to do classes instead of the gym, however the workout Kelly wrote for me is great, it's fun and nothing like the old style gym programs that I've had before.

Here's the obligatory before photo (complete with weird side eye).
I trained three times this week. I did two gym sessions and one Grit class. Talking to one of the trainers Matt yesterday, I realised my plan of going six days a week was slightly ambitious, so next week I'll go three to four times, depending on how I feel. At the moment I am really, really sore. So sore that when I'm walking my legs give way and if I have to squat down there's no way I'm getting back up again. Even the backs of my hands are sore. Seriously, WTF?

Diet wise I've gone back to eating properly. I cook up a pile of veggies every two to three days and use them as a base for meals. For lunches I add in tuna, beetroot, cheese etc to make a salad and for dinner I'll mix in some rice or pasta. It's easy and healthy. I've cut out the daily chocolate and iced coffee and am allowing myself one treat day a week.

So far so good. I'll be back with another progress report in a week or two.
