Beautyblender Sponge

I've heard people raving about how amazing this sponge is for ages now, and I always thought they were exaggerating. Really, how much difference can a sponge make, it's only a sponge! But, never one to resist a cosmetic fad, I had to buy one. At the time, they weren't available in Australia, so I ordered mine from Cherryculture. Thankfully, they're now available in Australia from Noveau Visage.

I've been using my Beautyblender for about six months now, and I have to say, all the hype is true. This sponge is amazing. It makes my foundation look flawless. I also love it to apply my powder with, it makes the powder go on smoothly without looking caked on or too sheer.

According to Beautyblender the patent-pending elliptical shape makes application foolproof by allowing you to access hard-to-reach areas with stunning ease. Its suede texture is sensual to the touch and its unique curves fit the contours of your face, leaving your make-up dazzling and undetectable. Best of all beautyblender does not absorb make-up like ordinary sponges do therefore an application using beautyblender saves you time, make-up and money. Beautyblender is ideal for sensitive skin too because it’s latex free, non-allergenic and odour free.

I never thought that a sponge could make such a difference to the way my foundation looks, but it does, and I'll never be without my Beautyblender again. If you only buy one new product this year, make it a Beautyblender!

  1. I have serched your blog by accident.
Wow, you have tried a lot of lip balm!!

I am a lip balm addict too....still looking for a perfect lip balm.

According to you experience, can you suggest me some of the lip balms which have all of the following qualities??

    1. moisturing-really absorbed by lips

    2. feeling is moist, something like a light protective layer invisible on lips.

    3. can help to lighten the lip color

    4. long lasting

    5. doesn't contain chemicals which may be harmful

haha, i have a lot of criterion for lip balms... hope that you can give me some advice.....

    my lips are really chapped.....

  2. Hi Emma,

Thanks for your comment. Looking at your criteria, the first balm I thought of was Korres Guava lip butter. It's got natural ingredients, is moderately moisturising, and as it has a white tint to it, it helps to tone down pigmented lips.

If you try it, let me know what you think. And I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

    Thanks for reading my blog!

  3. Really thank you for the response.

I tried it some days ago....actually i thnik it is quite useless to me.

It doesn't moiturise well. I have to reapply it again again. It just left me with a circle of white on my lip...weird.....

I am thinking to but certain items:

mario badescu, the body shop shea butter(two tubes in one package),clarins, MACs, perfect organics, badgers.

Which one have you tried on? Would you give some commetns to the above product??

    a million thanks

  4. Hi Emma,

    I haven't tried Mario Badescu or Perfect Organics lip balms, so can't comment on them. As for the others you asked about;

The Body Shop Shea butter lip balm is nice, it's pretty moisturising, but it's clear so won't tone down the colour of your lips. But if you just want a balm, this is a nice pick.

The Badger balms are amazing, they're a favorite of mine, they're super moisturising and have great flavours. But, they're clear too.

Mac make a good range of tinted lip balms, and they do have some pale colours that could help to lighten you lip colour, however I don't find them to be very moisturising, I use a lip balm underneath them when I'm wearing mine.

The Clarins lip balms are lovely, they're pretty moisturising and a good range of colours. Out of all the balms you've mentioned, Clarins would probably be the best for you, cause you could get a colour that would lighten your lip colour, and they're fairly moisturising.

Let me know what you get!

    clear? what do you mean??

After reading your comments, I am thinking to try the clarins replenishing lip balm and badger...

    they seem nice..

let me go to the counter and try the texture first...

I hope I can get the right balm this time...not having another rubbish laid in my drawer.

    thxxxx a lot..

    you're really nice.

an extra question, do you live in Australia??

  6. Hello again :)

By clear, I mean they have no colour to them.

I hoe you like the Clarins balm. It's very glossy, like a moisturising gloss instead of a balm. If you want to read a review of this, Jojoba from My Makeup Reviews has one at:

And to answer your question, yes I live in Australia.

    Kind regards
